Progress Page (Classical x Sora Student/Family Guide)

Updated over 3 months ago

The Pace and Progress feature in Sora Home gives students and families a clear view of your learning journey. Whether you're in middle school tracking yearly progress or in high school preparing for graduation, this feature highlights important milestones and helps identify areas for growth and improvement.

Progress at Sora is measured by mastery levels in units and abilities.

How do I find the Progress page?

You can find your Progress page by clicking My Progress in the left-hand sidebar on Sora Home.

Your Progress page is divided into two tabs:

Progress Tab Overview

The progress tab is divided into different cards, with different indicators for your progress.

Abilities

In the Abilities table, you can track each time you’ve shown mastery of a specific ability. Each time you demonstrate mastery, it gets its own tile, and the icon on the tile shows where you're at with that ability.

When you hover over any tile, you'll see where you demonstrated that ability.

Abilities Table Tiles

Within the abilities table, you'll see the following icons for each tile:

  • Empty square: not started

  • E icon: student is exempt

  • Clear 'loading' icon: student ability demonstration in progress

  • Light purple empty square: Attempted

  • Light purple checkmark: Exposure

  • Mid-purple checkmark: Deeloping

  • Bright purple checkmark: Demonstrating

  • Dark purple star: Extending

Only icons with a checkmark/star (exposure, developing, demonstrating, or extending) indicate credit earned in that ability.

Units

The units card gives a snapshot of units where you've demonstrated mastery. You'll see a table with your mastery level demonstrations!

You can click on any of these units to see an overview of mastery levels in each middle school subject.

You'll see the following subjects:

  • ELA

  • Math

  • Social Studies

  • Electives

On this page, can click into any topic to see all of the topics within that subject, as well as a breakdown of units within a topic.

Within this table, you can search for specific unit names as well.

You can click on any unit to pull up a list of demonstrations (times you've earned a mastery level in that unit).

School Year

The School Year card helps you and your family track your progress throughout the academic year. It shows the number of new units and abilities you've completed in each cycle, with clear markers for your targets, making it easy to see how you're staying on track to reach your academic goals.

You can click on any cycle to jump to your cycle overview.

The Cycle Overview lets you and your family measure your engagement and progress in past and current cycles.

You can keep an eye on important metrics like your attendance in Expeditions and how many tasks you've completed, helping you spot areas for improvement and stay on track with your goals.

You can also review the unit and ability mastery levels you've demonstrated in past cycles. You'll see a New label will appear next to any new units or ability demonstrations you've completed.

Reports Tab

The Reports tab has links to download your past mid-cycle and end-cycle reports.

If a report is ready, you'll see a link to download it as a PDF. If a report isn’t available yet (like for future cycles), it will be labeled as not available yet.
